Just reaching out again this week to stay in touch and keep you informed on the progress of your case related to the Maui wildfires. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Monday meeting. In the first video I walk through where things stand with the claims process. The question I keep hearing is how much compensation people will receive. The truth is we don’t know yet. There is $4.037 billion in the settlement fund and more than 22,000 claims have been submitted. That is a lot. What matters now is how strong and clear each claim is. Your story deserves to be told fully with detail and care. We’re putting tools in place to help, and soon you’ll receive draft forms to review so we can work together on them.
There will not be an update next Friday as we observe the Fourth of July. That holiday holds different meaning depending on where you come from. Here in Hawaii it reminds us that our islands hold their own identity and deep history. What happened in Maui is now part of that. Your story is also part of this nation’s history. We’re going to make sure it’s heard.
