Aloha,
This message is for all Maui Fire clients who have completed their release and questionnaire and are now sending in their supporting documents.
First, I want to thank you for the time, energy, and heart you have already given to this process. You have taken important steps for yourself, your family, and the Lahaina community. I know it has not been easy, and that many of you have already shared documents or stories more than once. Please know we hear you. I understand how it can feel repetitive or even frustrating to be asked again for something you’ve already provided.
The Trust is now organizing and confirming the thousands of claims that were submitted. Sometimes that means we need to double check or resend certain documents so they appear properly in the system the Trustee uses for review. This isn’t about starting over. It’s about making sure nothing is missed and that your story is shown in full. Everything you’ve shared so far is part of your case and continues to move it forward..
You can upload your documents through your client portal using the link below.

If your link has expired, simply re-enter the same email or phone number you used before to regain access. You can also call my office at 808-501-1683 and a member of our team will help you upload or confirm what we already have on file.
During our town halls in Lahaina this week, and again in our virtual meeting on Thursday, many of you spoke from the heart about the pain of this journey and the strength of our community. I want you to know those moments were felt deeply. Together, we are holding space for both the grief and the hope that carry us forward.
As we discussed at those meetings, the next important milestone is the hearing before Judge Cahill on November 26. That hearing will address several matters that guide how the Trust moves forward, but we do not yet know what decisions will be made or how quickly next steps will follow. Between now and December 8, we have an opportunity to strengthen your claim by making sure all of your documents are in place and ready for review. The Trustee’s team continues to organize and evaluate claims, and having a complete file ensures that your story is ready when that process advances.
If you are unsure whether your documents are complete, please reach out. We can review your file together and confirm what’s needed. This last step will help ensure your story is represented in full when the Trust begins its review.
Thank you for staying the course and trusting us to walk beside you through this process. Each of you is part of the story of Lahaina’s recovery, and your perseverance honors everyone who has been affected by these fires. I hope you take a moment this weekend to rest and be with your loved ones. We will continue this work together next week.
Mahalo,
Andrew Van Arsdale
