Aloha,
This message is for all Maui Fire clients who have not yet completed their Claims Questionnaire.
We have now passed both our internal deadline and the official Trust deadline of November 3. This marks an important moment in this journey. While that date has come and gone, there is still a short window for those who have signed their release but not yet completed the questionnaire to finish this final step. Completing your questionnaire now will ensure your claim remains active and ready for review as the Trust moves into its next phase.
You can complete your questionnaire by calling our office at 808-501-1683, where a member of our team can walk you through each question, or by logging into your client portal using your personal link below.

Earlier this week, we held three town halls in Lahaina, followed by a virtual meeting on Thursday. I want to thank everyone who joined us in person and online. The discussions were heartfelt and powerful. We heard from many of you who spoke from a place of deep loss and courage. The emotions in those rooms were real. The pain, love, faith, and a shared hope for what comes next were powerfully felt by all. Though the journey has been long and difficult, the spirit of aloha and resilience across our community continues to guide us forward.
At these meetings, we also talked about what lies ahead. The next key step comes at the end of this month, when we appear before Judge Cahill on November 26. That hearing is expected to address important matters that will shape how the Trust moves forward. We do not yet know what the court will decide or how soon changes will follow, but it will be an important step toward clarity and progress. Once the hearing concludes, we will share what we learn and explain what it means for your claim and for the larger community.
To date, over 23,000 claims have been submitted to the Trust. That number includes all types of losses including homes, personal property, income, emotional trauma, and more. The Trustee’s team is now tasked with reviewing those claims and assigning value to each one. For those who have not yet completed their questionnaire, it is essential that your information be included in this process. Without a completed CQ, your claim cannot move forward for review.
There is still time to strengthen your claim. You have until December 8 to supplement your file with any missing documents, photos, wage statements, or written accounts that help tell your story. The more complete your claim, the better positioned we will be to advocate for you when the evaluations begin.
I know this process has been heavy, and that every form and deadline can reopen wounds that are still healing. Please know we see you, we hear you, and we are walking beside you with every step. The road ahead is not easy, but it is moving forward, and together we will see it through.
You can call our office at any time, or visit your portal to complete your questionnaire. If you have questions or need help, reach out to us. We will continue to stand with you and do everything we can to make sure your story is honored and your voice is part of this resolution. Thank you again for taking the time to come together this week and we hope you have a peaceful weekend. I will see you again here next week.
Mahalo,
Andrew Van Arsdale
