Aloha my Ohana!
Today I bring you great news! Judge Cahill's hearing was focused on next steps to resolve your case including asking the defendants how soon it would take to fund their obligations under the proposed settlement! That means we are one step closer to getting the resources you are owed under the law.
I know a lot of this is confusing and in an effort to get together and talk through this, I will be on island the first week of March and will be hosting town halls on the Westside around 6 pm on Tuesday, March 4th, and in Kahului around 7 pm on Wednesday, March 5th. Chloe is working on securing locations and snacks for us to meet and talk through next steps and any remaining issues.
We'll have information out on this early next week once we finalize. In addition to the large meetings, I'll be in the office at Whalers Village most of the day both Wednesday and Thursday as well to meet with you if that is preferable!
We are still in mediation with the carriers to resolve their claims, the Supreme Court of Hawaii ruled in your favor, but they remain our last obstacle to getting your case resolved!
