AVA Law Group’s Update on the Maui Fires -8/15/2025 (Privileged & Confidential; Attorney-Client Communication)

Aloha,

Your release is signed and your questionnaire is complete, mahalo for your time and care in getting here. The next step is to send in the documents that will back up your claim and strengthen your case. What you have already shared is powerful, but these records help ensure it is fully recognized. If you are unsure what to send or need help tracking them down, call us at 808-501-1683 and we will work through it together.

Here is this week’s video update from me:

In this week’s message, I explain how we are moving closer to the October 1 deadline and what happens next. Once all releases, questionnaires, and supporting materials are submitted, the trustees will review each file, assign a value, and then I will go over that number with you directly. If the value does not reflect the full impact of your losses, we will push back with additional evidence and arguments. If it is fair, we will move it forward so the trust can be funded and payments can begin.

Your story is already strong, but the documents you provide now will make it even stronger in the trustee’s eyes. These could include proof of property damage, income loss, medical expenses, or anything else that shows how the fires affected your life. The more complete your file, the better positioned we are to secure the recovery you deserve.

We are in the final stretch and I want to make sure your claim is as solid as possible when it reaches the trustee’s desk. Please gather your documents and send them to us now, or call so we can help you track them down.

I will have another update for you next Friday. Until then, I hope you find a moment of peace and connection with those you love.

Mahalo,

Andrew Van Arsdale
