JUUL Vaping Damaging Student Athletes’ Health and Future Prospects

Recent studies reveal a rapid increase in US teens becoming addicted to tobacco products. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) lays the blame on JUUL e-cigarettes, as do the parents of addicted youth whose health suffered from over-vaping. Erika Edwards reporting for NBC News reveals the stories of teenage athletes whose lives altered drastically due to their addictions to vaping JUUL e-cigarettes, plans of pursuing sports in both high school and college ruined. One rising hocky star’s dreams of being picked up by college hockey recruiters failed to come true when his “juuling” addiction hurt his performance on the ice, his vaping-damaged lungs unable to draw in enough air for him to even play. According to increasing numbers of lawsuits being filed across the nation, JUUL deliberately targeted youth in their marketing. Allegedly, they enticed minors through sleek campaigns that underplayed the dangers of nicotine addiction. The CDC reports that one JUUL liquid nicotine pod is the equivalent of one entire pack of cigarettes, the concentrated pod form making it easier for teens to form severe addictions faster. Deceitful marketing should never be left unchecked, especially with the health of innocent youth on the line. If you, your child, or a loved one has formed a nicotine addiction after vaping JUUL e-cigarettes or has incurred severe injuries from JUUL e-cigarettes, financial compensation may be available through filing a product injury lawsuit.
