Originally from Billings, Montana, Andrew Van Arsdale moved to San Diego, California to pursue a career in law to ensure people could access legal representation after being wronged by powerful corporations. Andrew earned his law degree from the University of San Diego in 2018 and is licensed to practice law in California, District of Columbia, Montana, and Nevada. For years Andrew has helped people struggling from negligence-related injuries seek maximal compensation from responsible parties, ensuring client satisfaction at all times.

Van Arsdale’s work pursuing justice for Scouting sexual abuse survivors through Abused in Scouting has been widely recognized by the media and featured on platforms including CNN, ABC News, NBC News, etc. He has extensive experience connecting sexual abuse survivors to the representation they deserve and handling abuse cases from a wide range of organizations including the Catholic Church, the Mormon Church, and the Boy Scouts of America.

Through Andrew Van Arsdale's leadership, AVA Law Group is on a mission to help Marine veterans and their families who were exposed to Toxic Water at Camp Lejeune. AVA Law Group's work has been recognized by Time Magazine, CNN, and Fox News. AVA Law Group is actively engaged in negotiations with Navy Jag in order to resolve individual client cases through the administrative claim form process.

A Billings native, Teague received his law degree from the University of Montana School of Law in 2005. For nearly 15 years, he practiced criminal law as a public defender, prosecutor, and assistant municipal court judge. During this time, he honed his courtroom skills and authored several bills which strengthened Montana’s laws against domestic and sexual violence.

Teague transitioned his practice to civil law in 2020. His passion for helping others is now focused on fighting for justice on behalf of those who have suffered personal injury and wrongful death due to the negligence of others.

Raised in Billings, Kasodie graduated from Skyview High school in 2011. She then spent 7 years in Missoula where she received both her undergraduate and law school degree from the University of Montana. Through and following Law School, Kasodie practiced family, dependent neglect and criminal law. During this time, she learned the importance of client communication and true advocacy for her clients.

Kasodie made the choice to transition her practice to mass torts and personal injury because she wanted to continue to be an elite advocate for her clients while being able to continue to learn and shape the laws that come.

Eric was raised in Great Falls, Montana and graduated from Charles M. Russell High School in 2002. Following graduation Eric attended Montana State University in Bozeman, earning a B.A. in political science and a B.S. in sociology. Eric attended the University of Iowa College of Law and while a student was writer and editor on the Iowa Law Review and graduated in the top 10% of his class. Following graduation from law school in 2010 Eric began practice as a civil litigator working for a large regional defense firm. After years in that practice, Eric transitioned to be an in-house attorney for an employment support corporation, managing the company’s litigation.

Eric Joined AVA Law Group to focus his practice on helping individuals who have suffered harm and loss due to the actions of others. Eric has a passion for justice and will use his varied experience to produce creative and effective solutions for his clients.

When Eric is not practicing law he enjoys taking advantage of Montana’s outdoor activities like hiking and camping, playing guitar and spending time with his wife and children.

Sandra is a second career attorney and regulatory scientist chemist with 25+ years’ work experience in environmental laws and regulations. She has a chemistry degree from Georgetown University and was valedictorian of her evening law school class at North Carolina Central University.

Sandra started her career working under contract with the US EPA Offices of Water, Solid Waste, and Prevention, Pesticides and Toxic Substances. Sandra left this work to open her own regulatory consulting firm where she helped her clients achieve US and global registrations of agricultural chemicals, as well as genetically engineered crops. Her industry clients included Bayer CropScience, BASF, DuPont, Rhone- Poulenc, Syngenta Biotechnology, Inc., and others. She also has worked as an employee of BASF in the roles of Regulatory Quality Manager, Regulatory Expert Team Lead and Regulatory Science Lab Manager.

After graduating from law school in 2020, Sandra worked in a small law firm with eleven other attorneys in Arizona. Her primary role there was to support civil rights, torts, medical malpractice, and child custody litigation. Sandra joins us from a general practice firm in Alaska and where she was responsible for all stages of litigation, primarily in family law, property dispute, and probate issues.

Sandra has a special interest in emerging chemical contaminates of food and water. She will be teaching a CLE this Fall to members of the Arizona and Alaska state bars on this topic. She has also authored and filed a Citizen’s Petition to the US FDA to set tolerances for PFSA residues in foods on behalf of other petitioners seeking FDA’s intervention on this pressing issue.

Tyler Cross designed and manages AVA Law Group's proprietary software system CaseOpp that ensures efficient and effective management of all Case Files. He is a firm believer in advocating on behalf of the People Against the Powerful and he loves using his technology to ensure quality representation for incredibly deserving clients.

Director of Operations

Amber Reaves oversees AVA operations and assures quality control along each step of the Client journey from contacting our firm through case resolution. We have a large team at AVA and for us to represent our clients at the highest level it's important we do the small things right. Amber ensures we are detailed oriented and constantly striving to be the best versions of ourselves because it's what our clients need and deserve at AVA Law Group.

Office Manager

Ali grew up in Billings Mt and graduated from Billings Central. She has her degree in Visual Communications from FIDM in Los Angeles CA. She is married, has 3 children, and is involved in many activities in and around the Billings area.

Ali also has extensive experience in organization and customer relations including Saks 5th Avenue, MSU Billings, and others. She is longtime family friends with AVA Law Group's managing partner ,Andrew Van Arsdale, and participates in other ventures that Andrew is involved with. She strongly believes in AVA's mission to represent the people against the powerful and loves being a part of a team that helps people seek justice when harmed due to the fault of another.

One of Ali's life mantras is, “Don’t miss out on something that could be great just because it could also be difficult.” and she brings this to everyday of her work at AVA Law Group.

Office Manager

Austin was born and raised in Sacramento, CA and holds a degree in Healthcare Management. Prior to joining our firm, Austin served for 9 years in the United States Air Force as a medic, contributing his expertise across various hospital departments, including pediatrics and labor and delivery. He was as a shift leader for labor and delivery, a Clinic Manager for both the USAFA Family Health Clinic and Same Day Surgery department, and also was Medical Team Leader for NCAA football games. Outside of work, Austin cherishes time with his wife and five children, indulging in escape rooms and board games, reflecting his passion for teamwork and strategic thinking.

As an office manager at AVA Law Group, he finds great satisfaction in supporting his team to achieve success, ultimately enhancing AVA's ability to provide exceptional service to our clients.

Austin's multifaceted experience, ranging from his invaluable contributions to the United States Air Force to his dynamic leadership roles within healthcare settings, make him an exceptional asset to AVA Law Group. Bri is originally from Greybull, Wyoming. She moved to Billings, Montana a few years ago to start a life with her husband and find a career she could be proud of. A few months after moving to Billings, Montana she was recruited to join AVA Law Group’s call center. This is the moment Bri’s career took off and she knew she found a company she could be proud to be a part of. In the beginning, Bri focused on qualifying clients for legal representation. This is when Bri realized she wanted to expand her knowledge and help these clients even further by becoming a Paralegal and working more directly with AVA Law Group. With the help of AVA Law, Bri was able to gain her certificate in Paralegal Studies.

Bri officially obtained her certificate in Paralegal Studies in October2020, and is devoted to maintaining the integrity of the clients AVA Law Group represents, as well as assisting attorney Andrew Van Arsdale, and other co-counsels with anything needed to represent our clients and bring them the justice they deserve and hold these powerful entities accountable for their negligence.

Sidney began her career as a legal assistant with a Family and Criminal Law Firm in Billings. She obtained her Paralegal certificate in 2019 immediately after graduating from Rocky Mountain College with a degree in psychology. Sidney has over six years of experience assisting with criminal, dependent neglect, and family law in Yellowstone County.

Paralegal Sidney Sipe is eager to expand her legal knowledge with AVA Law Group, as well as her presence in the legal community in Montana.

Cherokee’s roots grow deep in Montana soil, she was born and raised in Billings, Montana. She attended high school at Billings Senior and then proceeded to attend Montana State University in Bozeman where she completed her bachelor's degree in Community Health. She found herself wanting to pursue a career that was both challenging and meaningful, which is how she found AVA. Cherokee wants to continue to work for AVA Law Group as she pursues further education in legal studies.

Paralegal

Born and raised in Massachusetts, Lisa began her legal career in 2014 in Harlingen Texas. After receiving her Paralegal certificate and Associates of Paralegal Studies from the Center for Advanced Legal Studies in Houston she worked with an insurance defense firm for 7 years. Lisa joins AVA as a Paralegal for personal injury. She moved to Billings Montana in October of 2023 and started immediately with AVA.

When she is not working to protect the interests of the people against the powerful, she is busy with her 2 kids and her husband. She is considering expanding her knowledge and going back to school to achieve her bachelor’s in paralegal studies.

Ember grew up in Helena, MT and soon after graduating high school enrolled in college with the hopes of becoming a psychiatrist. A year and a half into college, Ember began working at a law firm and soon realized she found her true calling. She quickly switched her educational focus and graduated with an associates degree in paralegal studies in June of 2021. She soon gained experience in many different practice areas with a focus on estate planning and probates. In 2022, Ember eloped and moved to Red Lodge, MT to be with her Husband and their many loved and cherished animals.

Soon after moving, Ember began working with a local nonprofit, igniting her drive to help her local community. In 2023, Ember moved to be even closer to the Billings area and has recently joined AVA Law Group as a Paralegal. She looks forward to assisting clients and growing with AVA Law Group.

Paralegal

Raised in Billings, Montana, Sam began her professional career as a legal assistant at boutique law firms around town. While working full time, she has pursued baccalaureate studies at Montana State University - Billings, majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in sociology. She received her degree as part of the graduating class of May 2022, and she has also completed studies to become a certified paralegal as of April 2023.

Sam’s passion for law and advocacy has been a driving force in her academic and professional endeavors. She started working for AVA Law Group as a call center representative in the fall of 2021 and now works as a legal assistant advocating for individuals victimized by powerful entities.

With her undergrad and paralegal certifications complete, Sam plans to continue to work for AVA Law Group while pursuing further education in legal studies.

One of Sam's heroes is Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader-Ginsburg, and she especially admires this quote of hers from 2018: “Real change, enduring change, happens one step at a time.” Sam strives to apply this everyday in her work at AVA Law Group.

Executive Assistant

Yessica was raised in Powell, Wyoming where she attended Northwest College. Yessica moved to Billings, Montana a year ago in hopes to find a company that she could be proud of. She started working at AVA Law Group's sister company Reciprocity then moved into AVA's main office in hopes to keep helping people in anyway she can.

Yessica's go to quote is "If there is no struggle, there is no process."

Legal Assistant

Aurora is a Montanan through and through. She was born in Great Falls and her family moved to Billings after her parents retired from the Air Force. She graduated from Skyview High School in Billings and is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting from Montana State University Billings while proving to be an essential part of the AVA Law Group Team.

Aurora also has a passion for children and has worked with foster care programs, as a CNA and with mentally disabled teenagers. She simply loves helping people, which is why she chose to work with AVA Law Group. Aurora puts her all into her position every day making sure that AVA lives up to its motto of representing the people against the powerful. Lindsey was born and raised in Billings, Montana, and is lucky to call Montana home. She attended Billings Senior for high school, and quickly found her passion for helping the community upon graduating.

Lindsey found that the work at AVA is both impactful and meaningful to all, and enjoys getting to know every client who she comes in contact with.

Pre-Litigation Case Manager

Janine grew up here in Billings and graduated from Billings Central in 2001. After graduating, she moved out to Arizona and earned her Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Northern Arizona University, followed by a Master of English from National University. She dedicated much of her time to philanthropy in the following years, serving on a variety of charitable boards, as well as working as a teacher and editor.

An avid traveler, Janine moved around the world over the next decade, living across the US, England, and Germany. In 2021, she moved back to Billings with her three children and set up roots back here in Big Sky Country. Today, Janine enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband Michael, and their combined five children. Working in the legal field has been such a fulfilling and engaging endeavor that she is grateful for each day.

Born and raised in Billings, Montana, Hailey’s core values of extending a helping hand and fostering a sense of community are deeply ingrained within her. After she graduated from Billings Christian High School, she selflessly dedicated herself by becoming a PCA and providing care and support. She has always left an ingrained impact on the lives of those in need in the community. Driven by a genuine desire to make a positive change, her passion for the legal field continues to grow. Magally is originally from Colombia, where she began studying law at Santo Tomas University in Bogota. She moved to Billings with her husband to continue her education and start her career. Magally has worked for the court system for several years as a Court Clerk. Her former position at Alternatives as a Treatment Compliance Manager, ensuring that clients complete their treatment, taught her much about how the Montana court system operates behind the scenes. After completing her Paralegal studies, Magally earned her Criminal Justice Degree at Montana State University Billings.

All her life, Magally has been very passionate about law, as most of her relatives are lawyers in Colombia. Magally is very proud to work at AVA Law Group where she is committed to helping clients get the justice they deserve.

Helena-born and pacific northwest raised, Taylor came back to Montana a few years ago looking to settle back into the mountains. She has since found herself joining the AVA team, and bringing a passion and drive with her. With her mother a teacher in Billings, and her father a local business owner, she wanted to follow their example and work for and with the people of Billings, and outwards, assuring that everyone has a chance to find justice in their lives.

Teree Riley was born and raised all along the North East Coast. Prior To working as a Legal Assistant for AVA Law Group, Riley served in The United States Air Force as an X-ray Technician, assisting countless soldiers, airmen, sailors and veterans with their pains. After getting out of the military, Teree enrolled at Montana State University as a biology major, where his curiosity to learn more and more led him to AVA Law. In his free time, Riley enjoys reading, playing chess, and going for bike rides. While working with AVA he enjoys learning as well as assisting people to get the compensation they deserve one step at a time.

Brittney was born and raised in Minnesota. In 2021, she moved to Billings, Montana, from the Black Hills of South Dakota with her husband to pursue more significant opportunities. Although she was born with Cerebral Palsy and has faced many challenges in her life, she hopes to give inspiration to everyone she encounters, in that you can do anything that you set your mind to. She began her career in the legal field by first working to qualify clients for representation for several kinds of cases. Then, she became a Litigation Support Specialist. She quickly found her passion in the legal field, helping others, and decided to pursue a degree in paralegal studies to become a paralegal, which she is currently attending college for. She recently joined AVA Law Group as a Legal Assistant. She wants our clients to know that they are not alone in their struggles and there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. She understands advocacy is essential, and she always strives to create a positive experience for our clients. Proud mom of three incredible boys, my journey begins in Billings MT. I kickstarted my career with an Associates in Health Science, followed by a master's in Coaching. Fueled by my love for law and a deep desire to create a better world for my boys, I'm currently pursuing a Political Science degree with a minor in Criminal Justice with a long-term vision of becoming an attorney. Zaiah was raised in Hardin, Montana and graduated from Hardin High School. She relocated to Billings in hopes of finding a career that serves her a purpose. Recently moving from the vibrant state of Tennessee and being a big supporter of the VOLS, I've found my professional home at AVA Law Group, where I work as a dedicated legal assistant. My focus primarily revolves around the Camp Lejeune Toxic Water lawsuits, allowing me to contribute to the pursuit of justice in a meaningful way. Growing up in a military family has instilled in me a profound sense of discipline and commitment. These values resonate strongly as I navigate not only the legal intricacies but also the unique challenges of being in a relationship with my significant other, an active-duty Marine. AVA Law Group holds a special place in my heart as it aligns seamlessly with my core belief in aiding those who seek the justice they deserve. The satisfaction of making a positive impact in people's lives is what drives me in my daily endeavors. Marketing Coordinator

Stephanie Painter moved to Montana in 2000, she raised both of her daughters and started her journey in healthcare here in Montana. An accomplished professional with a background primarily in healthcare,
practicing in all capacities available to a Pharmacy Technician. A few years ago, her history in the sign industry called again and she transitioned from healthcare into a role involving signage and graphic design, showcasing her adaptability and a willingness to explore new adventures.

Currently serving as the Marketing Coordinator at AVA Law Group, Stephanie takes pride in promoting a company dedicated to representing the people against powerful. She also finds much satisfaction in sponsoring local charities and schools. Her journey reflects a unique blend of expertise in healthcare and a newfound passion for marketing, all guided by a commitment to contribute to a mission-driven organization.

Paralegal

Donnell maintains the integrity of clients' cases by completing background checks on potential clients, maintaining case quality assurance, and drafting legal documents necessary for case qualification and correspondence. Donnell heads communication between AVA Law Group and co-counsel firms to make certain clients are informed and updated on cases.

Donnell has substantial experience working as a linguist for the U.S Government in federal court as an interpreter and translator. She transitioned into the role of a criminal defense trial paralegal and mitigation specialist in both federal and state courts, lending her knowledge and experience to AVA Law's services.

Paralegal Donnell Allen ensures the operational quality of AVA Law so co-counsel and clients receive top-notch care.

Web Developer

Born and raised in Montana, Alissa graduated from Bridger High School and later moved to Sheridan, WY where she worked as an orthodontic assistant. Alissa and her husband spontaneously moved to Alabama where she decided to pursue a degree in computer science at Troy University. After graduating from Troy, Alissa moved back to Montana where she started working for AVA Law Group in 2018.

Alissa soon discovered a love for web development and design. AVA Law Group has given Alissa the chance to put her passion to work, all while fulfilling her other passion of helping others.
