January 28, 2019, New York legislatures passed the Child Victims Act, which lengthens New York’s civil statute of limitations (SOL) on sexual abuse. This means New York increased the amount of time sexual abuse survivors have to seek action in civil court for their abuse. Further, New York opened several new opportunities for past and present New York sexual abuse survivors to pursue action against their abusers and seek recovery for their abuse.
