Aloha my 'ohana,
In the spirit of aloha and resilience that defines us, I'm reaching out with an important update regarding our collective action against Hawaiian Electric (HECO) for the tragic events surrounding the Maui fires.
For a comprehensive overview of our progress and what this means for you, I encourage you to watch the detailed update in our latest video following this update.
In a significant development, our efforts to keep the fight close to our hearts and homes have prevailed. The attempt by HECO to transfer our cases from the State Court—where we stand united in front of Judge Cahill on Maui—to the Federal Court in Honolulu has been thwarted. This victory ensures that our voices will be heard where they resonate the strongest, on our beloved island, in front of our local judiciary and a jury composed of our peers, our family, and our friends.
This decision marks a pivotal moment in our journey towards justice and healing. With procedural obstacles now behind us, we are moving forward towards setting trial dates for mid to late August. This is our time to stand before a jury and narrate the ordeal that HECO's negligence has wrought upon our lives, our families, and our cherished Lahaina.
The path to recovery and restitution is becoming clearer. While we understand that no amount of compensation can fully restore what was lost, this progress brings hope that HECO will be held accountable for their actions, and you will have the means to rebuild and chart a new course for your future—whether in Lahaina or elsewhere.
It's crucial now more than ever that we remain united and communicate openly. Your story, your voice, is the heart of this fight. Share your experiences with friends, family, and the community. Encourage them to stand with us, to hold HECO accountable for the devastation they've caused. This is not just about seeking compensation; it's about asserting our rights and ensuring such a tragedy never befalls our 'ohana again.
Please, keep the lines of communication with us open. Your information, your story, is vital as we prepare for the trials ahead. Let your friends and family know that now is the time to act, to stand with us and make their voices heard.

Warmest aloha,
Andrew
