Understanding the Situation

Alongside his partner, Matthew Smith, and a recruiter named James Jacobson, Jeffries has been charged with operating an international sex trafficking and prostitution ring. The accusations, spanning from 2008 to 2015, involve the exploitation of young men, many of whom were recruited under the false pretense of becoming models. These men were often subjected to drug use and coerced into performing sexual acts at lavish parties held in the United States and abroad.

Jeffries, who once led Abercrombie & Fitch to the pinnacle of teen fashion, is now facing 16 counts related to sex trafficking and interstate prostitution. The indictment details a disturbing pattern of manipulation, where young men—some as young as 19—were lured with promises of modeling opportunities, only to find themselves trapped in a cycle of exploitation.
